John 14:14

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. “

This does not mean anything you want, it is talking about staying within God’s Word. To ask it in His name, means more than asking, but believing, within the context of His Word.

Whenever we pray we must pray in the name of Jesus. He is the access to the Father.

Saying, “Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus” The name of Jesus is the access we need to speak to the Father.

Pray: to ask or enquire, to ask something of God. Prayer is a verb “action, it takes effort on our part.

We put God in remembrance of His promises. Scriptural references of what He said he would do for us. To present our cause.

1 Timothy 2:8

“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; “

Everywhere is the right place to pray, at all times! We should have an open communication with God at all times, an endless conversation! As people with cell phones…. They start a conversation on text and a week later they just pick up where they left off. This is how it should be with God! One continuous conversation, non-stop!

Matthew 6:5-15

"And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. “

God talks about a secret place here. Somewhere where you can be alone with God! If you do it secretly, God will answer it openly!

God’s prayer is not to be done repetitiously. This prayer is an example of how we should be praying, not the prayer to pray.

This is after Jesus healed on the Sabbath day the man with the withered hand.

Luke 6:12

“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Jesus was persistent in his prayers, unceasing in His prayers, He was in constant prayer! He is our example!

Luke 11:1

“Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." “

This is when Jesus taught them “the Lord’s Prayer” This prayer was an Old Testament prayer! He prayed, “Your kingdom come.” We know that the kingdom came when Jesus rose from the grave.

Luke 11:5-10

“And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. “

Because of this man’s persistence, the man gave them bread!

Then He shares the parable of the good Father.

Luke 11:11-13

“If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

1 Corinthians 7:1-5

“Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

The only excuse for not coming together as a wife and husband is to pray or fast with consent from each other.

Types of prayer:

  • “The prayer of faith” by those in authority in the church

James 5:14-15

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. “

  • “Prayer of faith” by believers

Mark 16:17-18

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

If you’re a believer in Jesus, you have authority over the devil and over disease.

Sometimes we need to bind up a demon to speak to an unbeliever, so they can hear the message your ministering to them. Demons shouldn’t be cast out unless you understand whet your doing. You might be leaving space for

  • “Prayer for a petition”

1 Samuel 1:17

“Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him."

Hannah had a baby and this was here payer.

We can pray for a petition from the Lord. Hannah did and received a baby boy.

  • “A prayer of supplication”

Philippians 4:6-7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. “

Being anxious for nothing, means to not be nervous. We need to pray like we already have the answer! Receiving them by faith”

  • “A prayer of confession”

1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins (missing the mark), He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Matthew 16:19

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

God has given the church, not just “Paul” the keys to the kingdom of Heaven. We can bind things on earth & in heaven!

  • “The prayer of agreement”

Matthew 18:18-20

"Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

  • “The prayer of Intercession”

Hebrews 7:25-26

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;”

Jesus is forever in heaven praying to the Father for others

He stands in the gap on our behalf!

We need to stand in the gap between the need and the source! This is called intercession. One who does this continually is an intercessor.

Conditions for prayer

  • Forgive! You want to get delivered, you must confess your sins and the sins of others!

Matthew 6:14

"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. “

If your walking in an unforgiving spirit you won’t have your prayer answered.

Acts 6:3-4

“Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

The Apostles where prayer warriors.

Luke 6:12

“And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

  • Understand Your Authority

Luke 7:7-10

“Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!" And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick. “

This man understood authority! Understanding your authority in Christ will bring you great faith!

If you believe God’s Word your faith will be impacted!

  • Believe in Faith that what you are praying has already come to pass! Speak as it is already done!

Mark 11:23-25

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. “

You must believe what you are praying will come to pass! And it will

  • Pray without ceasing, rejoicing always & giving thanks!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.  “

Rejoicing always! Praying without ceasing, and giving thanks!

  • Abide in God and in Jesus His Son!

John 15:4-5

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. “

We must stay connected to Jesus! He is the vine! We can do nothing without Him!

John 15:7

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. “

Abiding in Christ is a key to having your prayers answered!

God wants to hear you pray and He wants to be apart of your life! He wants to answer your prayers, He wants to give you awesome gifts. We are the ones that stop it, God is always giving!

The Resurrection

Pastor Nathan Bane 2-12-2017

John 6:39-40

“This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

The Resurrection is the will of the Father and Jesus came to fulfill it!

This next scripture was when Jesus was being questioned by the Sadducees.

Matthew 22:23-28

“The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, “Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her."

Matthew 22:29-32

“Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

John 6:47-48

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. “

Paul was on Mars Hill

Acts 17:18

“Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, "What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods," because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection. “

Paul preached Jesus and the resurrection of Christ, Jesus preached it, you’re in great company if you believe in the resurrection!

Acts 24:14-15

“But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. “

So lets go back and look at one of the prophets.

Daniel is prophesying about the end times!

Daniel 12:1-3

"At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever.  “

The Old Testament teaches on the resurrection as well as the New Testament!

We see here, Jesus talking about an example of the resurrection.

John 11:25-26

“Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"  “

Jesus was also speaking here of Lazarus who he had raised from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:12-14

“Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.

And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. “

Christ Jesus resurrection is an example of what is yet to come! His resurrection was the first resurrection!

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY." "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING? O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?" The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. “

Jesus defeated death, He was resurrected, WE WILL BE RESURRECTED!

Revelations 20:12-15

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. “

We will be judged according to our works. The dead (those spiritually dead) were judged and thrown into the lake of fire.

1 John 4:15-16

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”

If you believe in Christ, you are alive! Spiritually alive!

1 John 5:1

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. “

1 John 5:4-5

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? “

1 John 5:11-15

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. That You May Know These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. “

Faith in Jesus gives us eternal life. If you are in Christ, you have eternal life! We have a hope the world does not have! This hope is eternal life with Christ Jesus! To be absent from this life, is to be present with the Lord.

We have a hope, this hope is in Christ Jesus. These mortal bodies will put on immortality! If you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior, that He is the only Son of God, that God raised Him from the dead, then you are saved, alive in Christ Jesus! We will receive our new bodies when we are resin in the second resurrection!

Jesus and those He preached to in prison (1 Peter 4:6, 3:19)

Matthew 27:50-53

“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many. “

These were the first resurrection!

We have an awesome hope to look forward to! Praise the name of God Most High!

A Case for Holiness

Pastor Nathan Bane 2-5-2017

Hebrews 12:7-10

“If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. “

We know that some fathers are not good, they beat them and hurt them and desert them. We are not talking of these fathers. We are talking about the ones who care and are there for there children.

Abraham raised his children and God blessed him and his dependents.

God will chastise us, He desires us to be partakers of His holiness. He wants us to be blessed!

Psalm 95:10-11

“For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, 'It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.' So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.' "

Because of there unholiness, they did not enter into His rest.

Psalms 99:2-3

“The LORD is great in Zion, And He is high above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name—He is holy. “

God is holy!

v. 5

“Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His footstool—He is holy. “

v. 9

“Exalt the LORD our God, And worship at His holy hill; For the LORD our God is holy. “

Take note of this; God is a holy God!!!!

Thank goodness for verse 8

“You answered them, O LORD our God; You were to them God-Who-Forgives, Though You took vengeance on their deeds. “

God loves us, He forgives us, He wants to bless us. How we receive the blessings are up to us, our actions! God’s work is done! He has already given us His blessings, but to receive them is receiving His Word and Appling it to your life.

God is longsuffering! He is holy! He is righteous!

Psalms 105:5-7

“Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones! He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. “

Gods judgements are in all the earth, He is a righteous judge!

Psalms 105:15

“Saying, "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm."

Psalms 105:37-45

“He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes. Egypt was glad when they departed, For the fear of them had fallen upon them. He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night. The people asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and water gushed out; It ran in the dry places like a river. For He remembered His holy promise, And Abraham His servant. He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, and they inherited the labor of the nations, That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws. Praise the LORD! “

Israel was blessed, Egypt was not

Sodom and Gomorrah were judged for their sin.

We are holy in Christ and set apart for a sacred purpose!

Holy – 6499 – a holy thing, holiness, and sacredness.

When we are saved, we become set apart. Set apart for a holy purpose.

Romans 8:16-17

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together

We are adopted into the family of God, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ!

They suffering part is the putting down and doing away with our flesh!

Romans 8:24-29

“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. “

God gave all of us a destiny. He has foreknowledge. He knows all that will happen!

Because He knows what all of our choices are, He prepares us for His purpose!

Those He predestined

He called – we receive

He justifies usHe paid the penalty!

We still miss the mark! We have an advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous, to stand for us!

God wants His glory on us! The more we look like Him, the more His glory shines through us!

We are holy in the Fathers eyes.

The legal side – what God has done

The vital side – what we do

We are children of the Most Holy God, joint heirs of Christ! Glorified in Him!

Predestination does not mean that God takes our choices away, He foreknew our choices and decisions so He was able to predestinate our paths!

1Thessalonians 4:7-8

“For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit. “

God does not call us to uncleanness, but to holiness!

Ephesians 4:23-24

“and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

We must become renewed in the spirit of our minds! Put off the old man and the old corrupt ways. Put on the new man, like a garment!

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

We are His temple when you except Christ as your Savior!

Don’t disrespect your temple, this will bring destruction in our lives! You are still a child of God, even if know are reaping destruction from your choices that you make. God wants to bless you, He wants to shower down your blessings, this is His desires! But the choice is up to us, if we receive those blessings! God will not take away your choice, this is a promise God put into effect when He created mankind in the garden of Eden.

1 Peter 1:13-16

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."”

Conversation / conduct – 391 – behavior: - conversation

John 15:7-8

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”

The Helper is the Holy Spirit. We need His help in this life! If we abide in Him, you know He is abiding in us. There will be good fruit in our lives!

Ephesians 5:1-11

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Imitators – followers

A dear child is one who imitates his father or mother. We should be imitators of Christ. He lived here on earth for 33 years to show us how to live! To show it was possible to do right, to live the walk of righteousness. His Spirit will guide and protect us in this walk!

Psalms 1:1-3

“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. “

Stand – submissive and active. A verb meaning to stand, to rise up; to take one’s stand. To stand on one’s feet, not sit

You want to prosper, be healthy; don’t stand in the counsel of the ungodly. Follow after righteousness!

We will reap what we sow, good or bad, holy and righteous / unholy and unrighteousness.

Our Choice / Your Choice!!!

What are you sowing in your life?

The R’s of Christianity

Pastor Nathan Bane 1-29-2017

John 10:2-4

“But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. “

John 18:37

“Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

These can be used for all Christians, to grow and mature, to be like Christ!

  1. Recognize: this is hearing the voice of our Savior! He leads us, calls us by name, and we hear His voice!

If you’re a Christian, you should be hearing the voice of the Lord!

1 Corinthians 4:4

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”

  1. Prayer

Those in the world cannot hear His voice. We must be praying for their understanding and ears to be opened!

If you’re of the truth, you WILL hear His voice! The Words of Jesus are the truth! If we are to know the truth and get wisdom and revelation, we must read and hear His Word! Renew our minds with it! A lot of people can quote scripture, but is it in their hearts! Are you asking yourself, “what am I doing that does not line up with Gods Word, His truth?” “What am I doing that is lining up with His Word?”

James 1:5

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. “

You will get answers to your prayers if you seek wisdom from God!

James 1:25

“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

How do we receive Gods Word? With meekness!

We must get past the place of thinking we know it all, that we don’t need help. We all need the Word, we all need to hear from others. Most often we do not recognize the sin in our life, we need others to show it to us. We are often blinded to our own sin and short-comings. God will use others, even sometimes those closest to us.

The Word is a seed, it must be planted within our hearts, in meekness. Then it needs nutrition to produce fruit! This nutrition is God’s Word! Reading and Hearing it, Worshiping with others and by yourself. Praying and fasting. If you seek God, He will answer!

The Word itself is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart! Prayer and the right spirit.

Hebrews 4:12

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

  1.  logic – trace the fruit of your life. Trace the fruit to the root of what is going on in your life. Anytime there is fruit, there is a root! Good or bad. We must rip the roots up of bad fruit to heal the problem that is present in our lives now, to get us in line with Gods Word!

Matt. 7:16-17

“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”

Galatians 5:17-24

“For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. “

The bad fruit did not just pop up, it comes from somewhere. Often from our distant past, the seed can come from our reaction to our parents, our friends, our neighbors, strangers, pastors, those in authority, peers….

The Kingdom of God is present now! If you want to walk in the blessings of God and inherit them in this lifetime, you must rip up the root to the bad fruit in your life. And practice the good fruit!

Galatians 6:7-9

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.  “

Your fruit will bring blessings or curses! The root could have come very early in life, ask the Lord where the root is of the fruit in your life! We are always responsible for our actions, for the way we respond to others! It is not what happens, but how we respond to what happens that

  1. Emotions – Emotions will help you to recognize fruit in your life. Look for patterns, identify them. How did you respond? What did you do? This can lead you to the root of sin in our lives.
  2. Confess & Repent

Acknowledge whatever is in your life that is good or bad fruit. Confess the sin, repent and ask God to forgive you. Ask God to forgive you for the others that had been judged because of your fruit.

Ask God to help you continue in the good fruit! Our agreement is everything! Do we agree with Gods Word?

  1. Release Forgiveness and Blessings

Often, we will forgive others for hurting us, but we stop there. We must go further and bless them as well, releasing them from the hurt they caused! How we responded was our doing, it was our choice to respond the way we do.

  1. Recon as dead

We need to pray to bring the lies we believed to death and revoke their power over us. Have others to pray over us!

Let the elders of the church pray over you and stand with you.

James 5:14

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

Pray to dismantle patterns and habits that keep the lie and deceit in place, that give life to the lies and deceit that we believed others about God, us, life, others, society, etc.…. We make inner vows against others, these need to be dismantled!

  1. Resurrection

This is where we replace the lie with Gods Word. We must ask Jesus, our Lord and savior to replace the lie with His Word. So, the seed of truth will replace the old that was rooted up.

  1. Reconciling

Because of the lies and deceit that we believed, we hurt others. We need to repent to the person if it is possible. Sometimes it means restitution in some way. Reconciliation can be very healing for both parties involved.

God is Good! He is the healer of all our wounds, inner and outer! He will reveal the roots in our life produced from bad fruit, if you only ask! God desires our total healing, healing of our body, soul, and spirit!

Seek God, seek His counseling, seek His wisdom, His understanding! HE WILL ANSWER.

Don’t Let Them Get to You

Pastor Nathan Bane 1-15-2017

Psalms 37:8

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. “

Psalms 37:3-8

“Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.”

Wrath – anger, rage, intense emotional passion

Anger – vexation or grief provoked by offence

Cease – slacken

Forsake – to loosen, that is, relinquish

Don’t allow your emotions to dictate your behavior.

Galatians 5:19-21

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

We should walk in the spirit not the flesh!

Psalm 103:8

“The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.”

Praise God for His mercy!

Proverbs 20:2

“ The wrath of a king is like the roaring of a lion; Whoever provokes him to anger sins against his own life.”

There is a time when God will do justice!

Ephesians 4:26-27

“"BE ANGRY, AND DO NOT SIN": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”

If your going to get angry get it straight before you go to sleep. Forgive, ask forgiveness before you sleep! Don’t hold onto it. If you go to bed angry, it gives the devil a place in your life to kill, steal, or destroy something in your life

Proverbs 29:8

“Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.”

Proverbs 29:11

“A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.”

There is wisdom in restraining to our feelings and emotions, or responding to them quickly. Take a minute to think about how you are reacting and what fruit it will bring. You think it is harming the other person, but, in reality, you are the one that is being harmed, opened to the attack of the devil.

Proverbs 29:22

“An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.”

Proverbs 14:29

“He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.”

Proverbs 19:19

“A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.”

Proverbs 19:1

“Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.”

Proverbs 27:4

“Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?”

Proverbs 30:33

“Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.”

James 1:19-20

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”

What can be done about it?

Proverbs 15:1

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

Proverbs 17:14

“The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.”

Contention – strife, a controversy, a contention. The primary idea of this noun is that of a quarrel or dispute, a contest

Meddled – A verb meaning to expose, bust forth, meddle with, be obstinate. It expresses quarreling and being obstinate by insists on having one’s own way. It indicates separating oneself from others to seek one’s own wishes.

Humility is the mark of Christ, not self-righteousness, or someone defending him/herself. Judgement belongs to God, not us.

Psalms 24:3-5

“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”

James 4:7-8

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

James 4:11

“Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.”

When we get angry we have made a judgement that someone has wronged us. We feel like we have to get it straight, but God is the judge, not us! Pray for forgiveness for all you’ve held against another or yourself. Allow God to release you from the curses of your past so that you can find true humility.

God Speaks from the Heavens

Pastor Nathan Bane 1-1-2017

Psalms 19:1-6

“To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, and its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.”

We will see that the Words of God and the Works of God are in Union! You can see His Word from His works and visa versa.

God called His Work His Word and it has gone to the ends of the World. His creation speaks and it reveals knowledge! The Works have Words, they are interchangeable to God. The Works have a speech! All can understand. Creation Speaks!

A tabernacle is a tent, a place for the presence of God to dwell! When the light came out of the tabernacle, this is descriptive of the glory of God! The Glory and the handiwork of Gods creation, have speech, they say something and they show knowledge! They provide light for His Son, rising from one end of heaven to its circuit to the other end!

The heat could describe judgement.

Heaven – 8064 - A masculine noun meaning sky, heaven, abode, firmament, air, stars. The word describes everything God made besides the earth:

Firmament – 7549 - A masculine noun meaning an expanse, the firmament, an extended surface. Literally, this word refers to a great expanse and, in particular, the vault of the heavens above the earth. It denotes the literal sky that stretches from horizon to horizon

Tabernacle –  168 – A tent (as clearly conspicuous from a distance): - covering, (dwelling)

Speech – 562 – promise, speech, a thing or a word

Knowledge – 1847 – knowledge: - cunning, wisdom, aware

Psalm 147:4-5

“He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. “

Isaiah 40:26

“Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.”

You can see God in the sky! God created and named the stars!

Psalms 50:3, 6

“Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge. Selah “

Proverbs 8:27-28 (read the whole chapter, speaks of God’s wisdom)

“When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,”

Proverbs 9:10-11

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you. “

Wisdom is from God, it was there from the beginning!

Romans 1:20

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,”

Everything God made i.e. stars, earth, everything! Man, animal!

You can look at creation and learn the invisible attributes of God! Of His Godhead!

Revelation 22:16-17

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. “

The Bridegroom says come! The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!”

Genesis 1:14

“Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; “

God put the stars in the sky for us to signify things to show us His plans!

The rainbow was one of these signs

Matt. 24:27-30

“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. “

God will use the heavens as a sign for the return of His Son, Jesus.

Matthew 2:1-2

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." “

The star led them to the birth of Jesus! The wise men of old, were directed by the stars of heaven to the events of God and what He was doing and of the events in the earth.

The Heavens Speak and declare the glory of the Lord! Don’t get so busy that you miss out on what God is saying through His creation! As the saying says, “stop and smell the roses”, we should do the same with all that God had created! There is a still small voice in all that God has created! Even the rocks will cry out if we fail to praise our God!

When looking out at God’s creation, ask God to speak to you! Don’t get to busy with the cares of this life that you stop bearing fruit and hearing the voice of God to us. God is speaking! Are you hearing Him?

Time is short, it is not God’s will that any should parish! God tells us to be still and know that He is God! We don’t need to see God to know of Him, His creation says it all!
